Home insulation rebate eligibility

To be eligible for the insulation rebate, you have to satisfy a number of conditions.
- The house must have been built before 2004.
- The owner must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- You must be installing new ceiling insulation or replacing insulation deemed of "Negligible Effectiveness".
- If you are a tenant, you must have the landlord's permission.
- For strata units, you need the permission of the owners' corporation.
- You cannot have received the Solar Hot Water Rebate after 3rd February 2009.
- You cannot have received the Homeowner Insulation Program or the Low Emission Assistance Plan for Renters already.
- You must not get any other assistance from other government programmes that mean you receive more than the insulation costs.
If you satisfy these conditions, you'll be able to get the rebate.
